Sam Weinberg is a Brooklyn based saxophonist, composer and improviser. Weinberg has developed a language which hopes to push the saxophone beyond usually assumed limitations and capacities. His music is inspired in equal measure by free improvisation, free jazz, noise and visual art. His currently active projects include W-2 (with Chris Welcome), Maestro Day (w Henry Fraser and Joe Moffett) and solo saxophone sets.
Other collaborations and projects are many and varied and include the likes of Ben Bennett, Jaimie Branch, Andrew Smiley, Jason Nazary, and Weasel Walter. He founded Renfusa Records in the summer of 2016 which puts out limited-run cassette and CD-R releases of his music and that of his friends.
